Vacation Bible School

VBS is Crossroads way to pass on our faith to our community. 75% of those who come to our VBS for Everybody are not members or regular attenders at Crossroads. We are delighted to make the Word of God known and to demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit to all who come.

VBS for Everybody serves all ages – nursery, children, teens, and adults – by providing one week of summer evening instruction designed to engage each age group in explorations of scriptural lessons and applications.

Each year we select a VBS program that serves our needs. Each will have an excellent Bible focus, engaging songs and music (we teach signs to the songs), fun crafts, and active games. We also provide a free meal each night for everyone at 6:15 pm. Our program begins at 7:00 and ends at 9:15.

There is a separate Teen program which usually centers on the theme which the children are focusing on, but they learn in ways appropriate for their age group. They have a lot of personal interaction and some games and time to talk together.

Our Adults enjoy a program which gets them delving deeply into scripture, talking about the meaning, and then considering what the Bible is teaching them right now. This is a very popular element of our VBS as parents are learning about the same themes as the children most years.

The children’s program divides them up according to ages.  We have a class for 4 and 5 year-olds, then groups for 1^st and 2^nd graders, and then 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th graders. Mixing them together has worked very well and they move in their groups to Bible Center (with our best teachers), to music, and to crafts or recreation.
