Living The Word
James 1:22-25
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
The Living the Word Sunday School class is focused on teaching the people of God how to practically apply His Word to our everyday lives.
We do this through an in-depth study of the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. We have active discussions and dialogue. We are intentional about providing an open space for questions and communication.
We are currently doing a Summer Series that deal with various issues that we are experiencing in our lives today: social justice, mental health, wellness, and grief, to name a few.
In the fall, we will begin the study of the book of Revelation.
The Goal of Our Class
• To share the love of Christ with the world and one another (John 13:34-35)
• To equip ourselves to share the Gospel (1 Peter 3:15)
• To apply the Word of God in our day to day lives (James 1:22-25)
